Anyone familiar with Meridian speakers?

Won a pair of them at a silent auction fund raiser for our school last night. Gotta admit I am not familiar with the brand, but a gentlemen I spoke to afterward said they were supposedly pretty good. Retail value was listed as $800 for the set of two surround ceiling mount speakers.

Since we're in the house remodel mode, I thought I'd bid on them for future use and ended up winning. Apparently, it was not an audio-enthusiastic crowd, which turned out well for me.

Anyway, just wondering if anybody had heard of or had first-hand experience with them. The model is P200ZQ.

I don't know those particular models. But a friend of a friend does Higher End Home Theater sales/installations. He has a DEMO room in his house with a projector, 100+" screen and Meridians all the way around (bookshelves) with two Atlantic Technology monster subs. I would imagine that 800 for a pair of Meridians is on the lower end of their price offerings?

It was an awesome system! Very clean and dynamic. We took in There Will be Blood on Blu-ray.

I had the pleasure of listening to a Meridian system a few yrs ago. These were their higher end offerings which had their own built in amps and they were simply stunning. They were matched floorstanders all around. It was quite possibly the best system I have ever heard.
