Last spring the wife and I took a trip out to San Fran, Napa, liked it so much we decided on another trip out there this spring. Have to go back to Napa, redwood forest, but thats north of San Fran, whats good south ? We'd like to go to Monteray Bay,Carmel, not too far south of San Fran. Any other spots, points of interest to see within a couple hours south of Frisco ? Eateries to seek out would be good too, seafood and Italian. Places to stay,on the ocean, Thanks in advance for any input.

Highly recommend taking the 17-mile drive, it's like what...$10 bucks or so?

Monterey is just 15 mins from me, and there are plenty of places to eat there. I'd look online to see what events are going on out there IE ballet, reggaefest, etc. Ton of stuff out there to do.

Don't forget the Monterey Aquarium. That's where Spock took a swim with the whales in Star Trek IV

There's also Santa Cruz boardwalk and Pebble Beach.

Thanks for throwing that in there. I would suggest those too (but I was in a hurry lol).

Oh btw, just north of Monterey but south of SF you've got San Jose. Plenty of bars/clubs to check out with the wife.

If you like wine, check out the Vineyards around here as well.

Oh yes, definitely check out San Jose....you know that it's California's third largest city (behind LA and San Diego)?

Glad you're going to hit Monterrey Bay and Carmel this go around.

The redwood's are not just north. Check out Big Basin Redwoods Park. There's some stuff near Santa Cruz, too.

The Mystery Spot...between SJ and Santa Cruz...an odd little place that's pretty entertaining. Lots of forest hills along the coast going south. I wouldn't say SJ has too much to offer as I live here. Just a spread out city. Better food in SF.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)

    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
