Looks VERY promising.......

I wonder if they fixed that hollow sounding bass/midrange problem yet....

I'd reserve any judgements, the Primus is marketed under the Alpha's, and infinity would be in trouble if they sounded better

Sid- which inifinites you takin' about? Interludes? Entras? Primus? Alpha?

FYI we DO carry the Alpha's, and they sound not bad at all, much fuller than the entras/interludes. Still not as warm as polk, but I like 'em better than their previous models.

Oh yeah, the Entra Threes (same driver setup as RTi70s) are closing out for $199 each. That is a STEAL.

I think the Alphas are good for movies, but I Hate them on music. Very harsh. I haven't formed an opinion on the Primus series yet.

    Mx,

Infinity's Intermuzzo speaker line got a "class A recommendation" from Stereophile. I never have had the opportunity to listen to them personally but they look sweet and probably sound just as good.

I remember about 10 - 15 years ago when Infinity had the speakers with the "emit" tweeter and listening to those somewhere I was astounded at the sound.

    Mx,

you shopping around for new main speakers or something??

Before I purchased my Polks, the Infinity Alpha line was a strong contender - I think the Alpha's are quite a bit brighter sounding, but I liked that as well. One of the major things that swayed me to the Polk line was not just their sound but the price of the Alpha surrounds - $350 EACH!!! - GEEZ!!!

My favorite Infinity has to be the New Kappa 600's. The cabinets are very nice. They also sound much better then the Alpha line. I wouldn't buy the alpha's. The cabinet's are vinyl wraped, And they cost the same or more than the RTi line.

    ATCVenom,

The Kappa's I heard were hooked up to a Sunfire Stereo pre amp and a Sunfire Amp. For music the 600's are great. Movies I would have to see, And yes I have heard the Lsi's and they are hard to beat. The 600's are 2400 a pair and through my friend I could get them for 1699 a pair. Still more then the 15's. So LSi's are still on top. I still think the 15's sound better but the 600's seem to have a larger sweet spot when listening. They also seem a bit smoother in the bass dept. They 600's do have a 10" vs. a 8" on the 15's. But a good sub and some good bass management would fix that.
They are both great speakers but I would buy the Polks for there sound, price and the CS at polk.
