35 innocent people killed and over 180 injured.

My daughter was in this airport a couple of months ago. She said it was the tightest security of any airport in the world she has been in (a considerable number BTW). She did say the blast occured before the actual security checkpoints. Still, Russia takes their security VERY seriously. It's a bad omen IMO.

I hope there is a special hell for the animals that do this.

No...I take it back...even the lowly animals are not capable of this type of action and carnage...only so called "humans".

    So are they going to start make you go through metal detectors before you can get on the sidewalk now?

    This was at the ticket counters inside the terminal. If this sort of thing continues we will probably see greater security before entering the building.

    The only good thing is that it occured in Russia. When they catch who is responsible, no matter where in the world they catch them, you won't hear about them capturing them, you won't hear about the charges, you certainly won't hear the screams as they torture them for every bit of information they have, and you won't hear the shovels dig the graves they dump their bodies in.

    One other scary thing here is that if it happened at the ticket counter before any type of security checkpoint or controlled area, it is comparable to it happening at ANY public commercial place with many people.

    No matter how hard I try, I'll never be able to wrap my head around what really drives these "people" to cause such mindless and needless destruction on innocent lives. I'm not sure I want to either.

    I hope that if this indeed was an attack by organized "people" that they are caught and... (see above post).

    This is exactly what happened. And you notice it was at their International Arrivals Terminal as opposed to a domestic flight terminal. The more nationalities slaughtered...the more "impact" I guess.

    Doug is right though...whether it is "right" or not...Russian justice has been known to be swift and severe...and final.

    Yeah, kinda funny in a way though. Here we are hopeing for, cheering for, Putin to cut these guy's nuts off. Yet at home with our own situations, "you can't do that"....no sir, no,no,no. Some how the phrase " Walk softly and carry a big stick" comes to mind and I hope Putin has a darn big one.

    Agree...

    Problem is when hatred reaches critical mass there are no "innocents" on the other side.

    One of the greatest U.S. security concerns now are our TSA security cues.

    I hope it didn't shake your daughter up too badly, if at all...

    Nah...seems she was running ahead of issues/disasters her entire trip. Missed some massive deadly flooding, a volcano, a ferry capsizing, and now a terrorist attack in locales she had recently visited. She takes it in stride.
