Can anyone tell me if $250 for a pair of RTA15tl speakers is a good price?

the veneer on both speakers on the corners is either chipped or pealing up just a few small areas.

Thanks
Steve

Welcome to CP! You can see some recent discussion here ... or search for more ...

If I found a working set for $250, I would have some RTA15s and someone else would have $250, but you will have to let your ears decide for you. Good Luck!

    Hello,

Thanks for writing me back and I have read about you and your restoration of the same speakers

I would be the purchaser (buying)

My father has a pair of these and bought them brand new when they came out and I was in my teens and I love the sound of these speakers, I personally have never heard better sounding speakers.

Assuming the drivers and tweeters are in good shape, they're worth at least $250 in parts alone. Not that I'm suggesting you cannibalize them, , but if the cabinets are really trashed it might be a good option.

F1nut, any chance you could give me some input/help with refinishing the 15tl speakers?
I called polk and they dont sell the veneer for these speakers and there are a few areas that the veneer is chipped and missing

I'm probably not going to be much help to you as the products I use are not available to the general public. That said, you don't have to reveneer the cabinets, they can be patched/filled, touched up and top coated. If you are bent on reveneering them there are plenty of places online that sell veneer.

Hey, to the people looking for Polk RTA 15 Tl's, i have a pair in storage that i would let go for 225 in very good condition, though it would be for local pickup only in Maine.
