I took my daughter back to school at Towson U and picked up some new gear along the way. This is a great hobby, see list below and please give me your thoughts.

A. One pair of RT16's mint
B. One pair of S6's great shape
C. One pair of Wharfedale Diamond 7.2 Anniversary edition
D. One CS350 nice shape
E. One Denon AVR 3200

My wife was so excited she didn't or couldn't speak all the way back to Syracuse.

I have Rt800i's and CS400i in my HT setup, should I replace them with the RT16's and the CS350? Or is this a zero gain move? The 16's are very nice looking, maybe I should try and get a life?

Not worth her time, I spent all the money on Polk's. Half of zero won't get her far, thanks for the advice.

I'm on CL and Ebay everyday "just looking" ;) and my wife walks by and just glares at me like don't even think about it, but that's half the fun. Hell if she can have 15 purses @ 40-100 bucks ea then I think I need a few more speakers.

I'm just kidding about my wife, she has stuck with me for 29 years. All she ever says is "if it makes you happy, go for it"

Great stuff Cayuga. Just a heads up, I drove to Rochester the other day to pick up some Monitor 10's and found more than I expected! after loading the 10's into the car the gentleman told me he had a number older polks laying around but he knew nothing about them.

I asked if they were bookshelves and he said not all of them and pointed to two huge boxes in the corner. As I put my head down, thinking to myself how I would now be leaving with even more speakers, he had unpacked one of the boxes for inspection.

He not only has a number of nice bookshelves but a mint, still in box pair of SDA II's. I luckily didn't need them (already have better models) but if I were in the market I would have grabbed them instantly. I can't remember how far Syr is from Roch but if you are interested you should definitely pay this guy a visit. I can shoot you his email any time.
I did tell him what that particular model would sell for, $150-250, depending on buyer so hopefully he would stay with that.

Anyway, just thought you would like to know in case your search is not over:wink:

Looks like there are different opinions between RT16 vs RT800i. I hope you spend a few minutes to swap and post your take on the two. I am picking up some RT800 non i next weekend with some RT55s. "Hi, my name is cincycat13 and I am a Polkaholic" ... maybe we can stop together.

I think there are worse things than being a Polkaholic and thanks to chandler9a my madness is getting worse. Chandler9a turned me onto some mint SDA-2's and I've made a deal to get them. Nice to meet ya cincy, and thanks chandler I'll post some pics of my SDA-2's when I have them in hand.

    3) If it is a fling I must give her equal value to play as well....I shop wisely plus I research comparitives...and I tell her the same thing she alway's tell me....

I have a very simple rule when it comes to my wife spending money. Spend all the money if you need to, just don't spend more than all the money.
