Network Televisions Receivers, etc

I have a decent television and am not really looking to replace it, but am intrigued by the network capabilities of the new ones. Many Blue ray players also offer this feature, and I believe that things like the Xbox do as well. With my receiver it has network capabilities for internet radio, which I am not currently using either, but that should change as I rewire and change my set up. If I would like to stream movies through Netflix and explore other aspects of the web capable accessories,

(1) what should I look for?
(2) What features are the best?
(3) What do people have that they like?
(4) Am I ok with getting an Xbox or PS3 or am I better off getting a network capable Blue Ray, or are the televisions the way to go?
(5) I would like to run it through my receiver for surround sound, so would it be better to run it through something other than the television (I currently just have 1 HDMI running through my walls to the television)

(6) Does anyone else have any advise that would be good to know before I start dropping money?

My Panasonic has youtube and some other stuff on it but the only thing I really use is Netflix, which I stream often. My Xbox is in my projector room so I use that to stream Netflix. I also use LastFm on the XBox all the time which I recommend. Both my XBox and my Panny BD player stream Netflix at about the same quality level which is based on how good my internet connection is and both go to external speakers. My Panny is wireless while my XBox is wired with a cat 5 cable which might make a difference in some houses depending on your router setup. Some companies offer Pandora internet radio as part of thier streaming ability which is a good service- frankly I consider it close to even with LastFM. You should also consider which controller you are going to use to surf on streaming. I prefer my XBox controller for it even though I have a master remote up there.
