I've just finished connecting this receiver up to my Panasonic 46" TV and Adcom 7500 amp. I'm not getting any sound from the center channel. I replaced the connecting cable with one that I know is good and still no sound. I moved the front channel cable from the front channel input on the 7500 to the center channel input on the amp and got sound so I know the amp and my center channel speaker are working correctly. Has any one here had a similar problem with this receiver? I'm still within my 30 day return with Amazon but if I've done something incorrectly or overlooked a step I'd appreciate any info you may have. Thanks.

I haven't gone any further than just hooking all the speakers, my cable box and the amp. Does the center channel have to be enabled or does the receiver come that way? I haven't used the on screen display at all yet. Thanks for the information. I'll try again to get to the screen display. The newer these AVRs get the more complicated they get for us old guys. Thanks again!

I suggest you read the manual,go through the setup process. Each input has to be setup to work properly. Yeah, todays receivers are more complicated than older ones but it's worth it. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Well I read the......(these things aren't printed for old eyes) manual and went thru the setup process as best as I could understand it:smile: My Yamaha, Denon and Integra AVRs were more straightforward to set up. A manual without all the references to anything but a DVD player and DVR from my cable company removed and in large print would be nice. Still no sound from the center and just before I unplugged it for good I lost sound in the rt front channel. It's on it's way back to amazon.
    Thanks for all your suggestions.

I will assume you have a new non elite pioneer receiver.
this is what you want to do:
    1. connect all components: speakers, TV, cd player, dvd payer, blue ray player
    2. turn receiver on
    3. turn TV on. make sure receiver out is connected to TV in. set TV to the imput of the receiver
    4. connect the microphone to the connection in the front of the receiver
as soon as you connect it it will automatically show the MCACC screen on your TV
5 on your pioneer remote press the button that says receiver
5 on your remote press the enter button.
let it run all the setting
when done put a movie that has 5.1 and see if the center channel works.
    done
    Current HT setup
    Mains: B&W 804s
    Center: Polk CSi5
    Surround: Polk FXi3
    Sub: Velodyne DLS-3750R
    Receiver: Pioneer SC-07

    DBP: Sony DBP-S350
    CDP: Pioneer DV-48AV

How is your Pioneer hooked up to the TV and other components?

Are all of your source components (cable box, CD, DVD, bluray) connected first to the AVR and then to the TV?

If I remember correctly if a cable box is connected to the TV first and THEN to the AVR, then you only get L/R audio - not multichannel.

I connected the cable box to the receiver input by HDMi, DVD player to receiver input by HDMI and connected TV to receiver out by HDMI.
After I took the Pioneer out and replaced it with an Integra 7.6 connected the same way and had sound from all speakers. I still need to set the speakers using the mic. I do appreciate all the help and suggestions.

A Pioneer SX 1120. Wonderful picture from DVD.....just had trouble with the sound. Probably anyone here could have connected it and had sound in minutes or less. Thank you.
