i'll send ya bolts and gasket material.

i didn't drill any holes in the mount space -- you've gotta lay the sub in the box, and with the sub IN THE BOX carefully predrill 8 very small holes --- just go right through where the screw holes in the basket of the sub are... then u put the screws in and call it a day.

if i were to predrill them now, chances are they'd be off by a little. the basket of the idmax isn't a standard 12" sub basket. its a little tiny bit oversized.

Uh, I wouldn't drill any holes anywhere near a speaker.

Goto an office supply store and pick yourself up a Sharpie permanent marker. I say Sharpie becayse they have fine pointed markers that will write on anything. Go home, take your sub, drop it in the box and then mark the holes with the sharpie. Then pull the sub out, drill your holes, lay your gasket around the edge, put the sub back in and screw the **** down good.

This ensures that you will not damage the speaker cone with your power tools or screw drivers. I know first hand that speaker warranties do not cover boneheaded stunts.

It just says something for Kenwood that the 8 inch sub I cracked after poking with a slipping screwdriver, didn't disintigrate. It took somebody dumping brake fluid and cleaner on it accidentally to destroy it.

Haha.. so far 6 hrs of work in this stupid car.. 2 days so far

Reasons? Couldn't find the amp on first day.. but ran all the wires except the remote and speaker..

also found out the amp did not had hi input levels.. so i needed to buy converter and rcas... well at least i did not know how to use the hi level...

2nd.. found another way... soldier in the speaker wires and connect to 16gauge into converter.. then to rca to amp

on process found amp but was underneath airbag and didnt wanna mess around.. so stayed with the assumption

connect power to battery.. and the moment of truth and NO SOUND!!

Amp was not turned on.. then we tested the wires.. all was ok except remote! So we thought oh **** we hooked the remote to antenna...

so turn on radio and blam... boom boom boom

so tomorrow gonna redo the remote.... so far system sounds pretty good.. thanks power..

power's box is awesome... sub is working ... amp is good so far

there goes my sound speaker :P
