    too much gain from the Wright,,,I put them between the pre and amp,, not much difference,, gonna try them between the source and pre and see what happens.

    Reason I ask is I have a pair of stepped attenuators. I forget the name of the manufacturer but you are welcome to use them, if you would like. IIRC, they weren't altogether cheap and came well regarded when I got them a couple of years back.
