Acdom GCD-700

I have an opportunity to buy the a Adcom GCD-700 cdp. Would this model have any advantages over a GCD-600?

    Probably not much.
    I replaced all my adcom gear except the monoblocks.
    Get yourself a transport and DAC for a really big improvement.

    I believe it does HDCD and a has a little nicer dac section. The thing is with these old changers if they break they either can't be fixed because of lack of parts or not worth fixing. Those came out in 1995, starting to get up there in age.

    I'd say save your money and keep what you have, the differences aren't that great. I agree 100% w/fbm211. The 700 does have a digital out, not sure if the 600 does.

    The ironic thing today the CDP door wont open or play a disc...:mad:

    I guess I will save up and pick up a newer CDP

    Anyone on this board now this player? I want to see if my issue is a blown fuse or a simple fix.

    the 600 does have digital outs...if you can get the 700 for the right price:wink:, snag it..i'd pop the top and see if it's any easy fix..if not throw it on the bay..even in non-working condition, they bring high $$

    If this thing is toast I was thinking of picking up a new/newer disc player.

    Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it around $500

    Go look around on audiogon for a good deal on a used unit.You could get a real nice CDP for around 500.

    $500 for GCD-700? that's alot of money....700 is the CDP that replaced 600...

    I am satisfied with mine and it's a good all around CDPlayer...but $500?? wow, I love to get half of $500 for my 700
