I'm looking at a pair of S6's for my bedroom, the price is $60 with stands. Is this a good price? How will these do in a room 16x16 and is there a better choise in the $60-$100 range? Trying to stay on a tight budget for this room, any feedback is great. Thanks

$60 bucks is a good price for them. You should also look around for Monitor 7's. May cost you some more but I think they sound better.

they are worth $60 as long as they arent beat up. i paid $80 for my last set of s6's. i always seem to end up with a set every few months lol. but they were absolutely spotless, not a scratch or ding on them

Are they the ones in Ellicott City? There is a pair listed for the same price with some stands that don't quite match. The price is good if they are in good and working condition.

I picked up a pair of S8 and they are nicely voiced. The S8 has really good bass and the S6 shouldn't be far behind. They would do well in that size room. Just make sure all the drivers are working. Polk does not have the mid-woofers anymore.

Yes skrol, I'm taking one of my kids back to school at Towson and figured if I have to pay 30K for school, why not spend $60 on dad. I would rather spend $30K on speakers and $60 for school. Thanks

If it doesn't work out for the S6's, I may be able to work something with my S8's. The guy who was the project manager for the "S" series back in the early '90s expressed some interest in them. Hopefully, I'll see him in church tomorrow and see if he is still interested.

That would be nice, I'll know soon enough. $60 for the S6's fits a college poor guy. Why part with the 8's?

They are sitting in my basement taking up space. I sometime think about using them in an HT rig but it hasn't happened yet.

I was just listening to my S8's. All the drivers are working but one tweeter seems attenuated a little. I'll have to see if it is the tweeter or something with the XO.
