Are these not worth the effort....I am sure it part depends on the conditions of the surrounds...etc....I seem to remember comparing these to the Polk 10B's when I got my first polks....also some advents and Bose 601...it was Salt Lake City...

    Depends on if you like the JBL sound? A lot of SPL and bass, good for rock, concert stuff.

    However, these are more like near field monitors and can sound a little muddy from a distance?

    I prefer the next generation that went with JBLs Titanium domes. Better resolution up top. In fact I have a pair of that next generation and they are more articulate/cleaner in their highs than my stock SDA-2Bs with the SL2000s?

    id personally pass on those, but thats just me

    3.1 channel because i hate cables ran across the living room like that
