Network mp3 player

I need a good sounding mp3 player to use to connect my stereo to the computer in my room. I do not need a wireless connection since the wifi link will be in the living room as well. Does anyone have any experience with these players, suggestions?

    I use an old(er) P3/500, 16 bit SoundBlaster.

    Works like a charm.
