About ready to return my Oppo BDP-93

After reading user and pro reviews I was really looking forward to my first blu ray player in the Oppo. Finally became available thru Amazon and it arrived quickly! Video is great but I am having problems with audio. The unit is hdmi into the TV of course but with an older avr I am using multi channel analog for 5.1 sound. I had read where there was an audio sync problem with some Samsung TV's and apparently there is a firmware update pending to fix this but I am having the same problem with my new Vizio LED. I have made some adjustments where it's not as bad now but it's still noticeable and somewhat of a distraction when watching blu ray discs...don't seem to have this problem with standard dvd's though.
Now out of nowhere the Oppo has stopped sending LFE to the sub. Verified this with my Avia set up disc and nothing being sent to the sub. The avr does not seem to be the culprit but I will double check that tonight with my Pioneer universal player. No settings were changed so I am baffled as to why the Oppo appears to just have stopped sending lfe to the sub...maybe I got a lemon? I'm starting to think that I may return the 93 to Amazon and look for a decent price on a 83-SE.

Depending on your AVR you might have to apply a 10-15db boost to the analog LFE channel. It's applied automatically via HDMI, but not all AVRs do it with the analog. I had to with the 83 connected to an HK via analog. It's a bit of a pain to make sure you're not clipping the signal, but I was able to calibrate in the negative trims for both the player and AVR. Once done, I was golden.

I was aware of the boost needed and agree it's a bit of a pain but I could live with it...but there is absolutely no LFE signal being produced to the sub. All speakers are set to small in both the avr and BDP and avr is set to send LFE to sub only(could send to FL/FR or all 3).
Realized this problem late last night and plan to use my Pioneer player to rule out the amp tonight but it does appear to be the Oppo. I must say the audio is a step up from the old Pioneer.Yep, my name really is Bob.

Oppo are a wonderful company to deal with and very responsive.
Explain that you have eliminated the receiver as the issue (when you have) and I bet you will be taken care of.
That is my experience when having to contact support (for things I did wrong not problems with the units - BDP83 and 970H).Magnavox 185 modified amplifier
