7b tweeters in 5b

I posted this in the speakers forum before I realized that I might get a better response here.
I just purchased a pair of polk 5b speakers with the silver coil tweeter. To my ears, they're not the greatest sounding but hey, I bought them for the garage set up. I also have a pair of peerless (hole in the middle) tweeters from a set of 7b's (cabinets trashed).
Could I put the peerless into the 5's? Any issues with the crossover?
Thanks,
Rick

Throw them in and see what they sound like. If they are really bright/really recessed, then there are crossover issues, but I wouldn't anticipate any.
I believe the SL1000 and Peerless are hot swappable. The SL1000 and Sl2000 are both replaced by the RD0-194, so the SL2000 and Peerless should be interchangeable. You'll just have to drill new holes if you've got SL2000s at the moment. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, I hope. -
The Peerless backing plate maybe larger than the 2000 in your 5s. You can measure to be sure. Polk sells the correct tweeters for that speaker for $60 each and Club Polk Members get a 20% discount.TO ERR IS HUMAN. TO FORGIVE IS CANINE.

I had done a measurement of the plates and they are the same size. I just measured the holes and they don't line up. Vertical is ok but horizontal is off by about 1/4" so I'd have to bore out the holes and bolt the tweeters in place. Or, I could bore out the plate holes and use washers.
I guess I could "tape" them in place first to see how they sound. If ok or better, then do the work. If not, put the originals back. -
Called the polk help line and got my answer. No, unless I want to start changing components in the crossover. Sounds like too much work for garage speakers.
