Have any of y'all seen this? I've watched it 3x on various plane rides and I laugh every time......

The humor is quick and I like the timing, plus it's a live video game (of which I'm not into, but the execution of it in the movie is pretty comical - no pun intended).

If y'all are in the mood for just a silly movie, I'd recommend this one.....

Hated it. I appreciate what they were trying to do, but I'm not a 9-year old nerd so it wasn't really for me.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I thought it was hilarious. Michael Cerra cracks me up, even if he plays similar characters most of the time. Have you seen 'Youth in Revolt'? It's pretty funny too.

Man, oh man... how I loved this movie. I'm a bit surprised about Bobman's comment because I definitely think it was more directed at 30 year old nerds. In fact, I've been on some forums where some younger kids were actually complaining that there weren't any references to video games made in the last 15 years.

Not a dull moment in the flick. And if anything, you have to admit it was original.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Maybe. I was never a video game OR comic book fan, so... I guess I was just a different breed of nerd.

Totally agree with this. I appreciate that they did something different, and did it well, it just wasn't my bag.

My bad. Chem sets and marathons of Fawlty Towers on VHS, right? Just a nerd of a different color:tongue:

I'm 34, a gamer for as long as I can remember, and I love this movie :D

If you don't get the gaming references, I think the movie would suck. It's just chock ful of them.

Same age. Same story. I can't decide what was more fun. The boss battles or trying to pinpoint the origin of all the sound effects.

The best line had to be... "No we broke up, hey check it out I learned the bass line from Final Fantasy 2."

    Honorable mention:
Todd Ingram: Tell that to the cleaning lady on Monday.
    Scott Pilgrim: What?
Todd Ingram: Because you'll be dust by Monday, because you'll be pulverized in two seconds; and the cleaning lady, she cleans up dust. She dusts.
Scott Pilgrim: Well what's on Monday?
Todd Ingram: Today's Friday, and she has the weekends off... so... yeah, Monday.

Ordering a package then immediately sitting in front of the door waiting for the doorbell.....lol.

I'm not a gamer and never have been, but this movies pacing and wit cracked me up.

lol yeah, that's another thing about this movie. it's scripted and played out like how people 'read' comic books in their mind. well, at least that's how comics/manga seems to transpire in my mind when I read them.

The pacing, quick cuts, (lack of) sound effects, etc. Sometimes i feel the movie is reading my mind and playing it out on screen :D

I got the Bluray when it was on sale($7.99?) at BB and loved it. I think it's one of those kind of movies, if you've never been a gamer, you might not get into the movie. Hard hitting soundtrack too.

This was not for me, I thought it was horrible.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.
