Time for some early and overdue spring cleaning...

Asking $100 obo, plus insured shipping.

Toshiba HD-A35 HD DVD player, original owner, bought as back-up player for our HD-XA2. This HD-A35 was the flagship model of the third generation HD DVD players. This player has seen very little use beyond initial check of proper operations and subsequent firmware 4.0 update installation. Otherwise, it has been stored in a smoke-free, pet-free and children-free environment.

This was purchased from Magnolia Audio Video in Seattle on Feb 28, 2008, and a 4-year extended warranty which makes this player protected thru Feb 27, 2013 (two+ years from now!). This player comes with the remote and power cord, and I’ll even throw in three unopened HD DVDs as part of the deal. Original box was not available when purchased, but this will be packed securely for safe arrival. I have shipped delicate electronics for many, many years and I go above and beyond the norm.

I am the original owner of this Toshiba HD-A35 HD DVD player, and I bought this as a spare player right after Toshiba announced that they were pulling the plug on the HD DVD format in 2008. Since bringing it home, it was plugged into a Panamax M5410 Pro power conditioner / surge protector to keep it safe, and I ran it through all the paces to make sure all functions worked properly. Afterward, I wrapped it in a plastic bag and stored it in the closet. I only removed it once when Toshiba issued their final Firmware 4.0 in early 2009. I updated the player, again ran it through some HD DVDs and DVDs to verify proper operation, and put it right back into storage. I can confirm that there were no jaggies displayed when playing AVC-encoded HD DVD discs such as “Transformers”.

High performance features include the great Anchor Bay VRS upscaling chip to maximize the video quality of regular DVDs. This Anchor Bay chip performs on par with the highly-regarded Reon HQV upscaling chip found in high-end components such as Toshiba’s own HD-XA2.

This player has always been located in a pet-free, smoke-free, and child-free environment by this fairly anal audiophile and videophile. This player was never abused in any way, and has only been used sparingly as described above.

The A35 has already sold, but I do have an A20 that I need to sell (for less than the A35, obviously). PM or email me (kma_av@yahoo) and I'd be glad to work a deal...
