10b2.jpg

10b's in great shape for their age. Comes with the stands. There is a few scratches here and there and a little bit of peeling on 1 or 3 of the corners. Again though for the age of them, they are in great shape. No issues with any of the drivers They are a great sounding speaker.

the pics make it look like the rubber surround is faded but in person, to me, it does not. 10b.jpgYou will have a hard time finding a better sounding speaker for the money.

I am going to try to keep this local sale only as I do not have boxes for them and I would think shipping 4 boxes would cost way more then the speakers would cost themselves!

That's a great price. I'd bite if I were local. But then my wife would ''bite" me!!

Good luck with the sale. I've heard Monitor 7s and own 5s but never had the opportunity to hear the Big Boys.

Bet they put out some formidable sound waves!

Why does I think those look like 10As....

all this 10B and 10A confusion is confusing me...

them's peerless tweets with no center dimples...

and the Polk Audio badge is on the edge of the cabinets not on the grills....

and the cabinets are squared off on the fronts not beveled...

    \ i'm just saying /

The tweets are silver in color. I thought they were the 1000's? No?

Peerless are black in color. anything other than Peerless will profit by being replaced with the correct RDO tweeter from customer service. Incredibly generous, almost giveaway price on those 10s BTW !

Thanks for the compliment on the almost giveaway. When I list them on craigs list next week, they will be 2x the $ actually. For people on the board, well, I think we should try to take care of each other every now and then lol.

Now the tweeters on this, I thought were the original and not peerless.? DO i need to pull one out to take a look or besides being silver vs black with the dimple, is there another way to tell?

sorry for the confusion.... it sounds like they are the original and not the peerless...

Still on CL $150 should be a very reasonable price.

They might be/probably are the original tweeters, I'm not that "up" on Polk minutia. I just know that Peerless are all black and are supposed sound better than the other older/stock tweeters. I've only compared Peerless to the SL2000 silver domes, Peerless won, handily.
Tweeters are discussed in this recent thread:

    Ernie-
I realize you are trying to do a local sale, but before you put them on CL would you consider selling the stands seperate and shipping to TN 37604 zip? If you don't want to seperate I totally understand. I got a pair of 10's on ebay last year and shipping w/o stands was $80 from GA so I don't think buying everything would be cost effective. If I was closer I would love another pair of 10's though. Thanks for your consideration.

Suppose the quickest way to tell exactly what they are would be to pull a driver and see if it's a 6501 or 6503. With the 6501's they would be the "early" version.

    Agreed, nice 10's...

The stands alone are worth more than half your asking price! $75 is a fantastic deal for someone.

Why the hell did I leave Chicago? To think I'm on the lookout for these and/or 7's but can't get any close to me.

Goodluck with your sale.....who am I kidding, they'll go quick!

Some of the pics of the 10's I have seen the back, where it says what they are is on top of the speaker mine is a sticker under the speaker terminals that have the S/N on it.

No problem, I am glad you were able to find a home for them. I'm sure I can find some stands or make some. If we were closer I would have bought it all and found something on ebay to make the wife happy. I've seen a couple on CL in my area but alot of people are not providing co ntact info so the only way to reach them is thru the cl email link and so far no one is responding.
