CD player dilemma

Well, it looks like the Raysonic CD player is going to have to go, I have now been out of a job for 2 years and need to downsize. So, the Raysonic replaced a Rega Planet (original) which i have in the garage. I can move it back into the house to replace the Raysonic once sold or maybe use a bit of the funds i get from the sale to get something else. But, is there anything that is less in cost then the Raysonic will bring that will have better sound quality then the Rega?

Or shall i just go ahead the swap in the Rega till i find a job and then find something?
