well, finally got thru a few pieces of the Sansui stuff. the first on the chopping block are the SP-X8900's. these are great sounding speakers. ive had about 6 full hours of listening time from Dire Straits, to Chuck Berry, all the way back to Nine Inch Nails. all the drivers work, the tone adjustments work well and definitely can hear the changes in each step. i am offering a polkie-only price of $220 for local pick up, or i will meet within about an hour of my house in 46143. bring any of your own equipment if you are that worried about how they would sound.
the good: sound great, all drivers work, these are only in my possession from the original owner by his permission to inspect, clean, and potentially sell.
the bad: these are older speakers, they arent 10/10 cosmetic condition. i would rate these a 6/10 cosmetically, but functionally perfect. some scratches/nicks, one small part of the grill has a chunk missing. some corners are a bit chipped. everything is intact, and with some more tlc would be great looking speakers again.

i will go ahead and give bottom dollar on these to polkies. he wants $200 out of these as his bare minimum, this is me not making a penny for the inspection and cleaning. they have been hooked up for a few days now, and havent missed a single beat. these will make someone VERY happy.

Can't believe someone hasn't jumped on these yet.

Tried to help the guy out with what he had the other day, I didn't tell him anyone here would be interested.....Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

i have enough that if these dont sell, i will purchase them outright for myself. im sure this sansui stuff would sound great while im repairing cars in my garage or outside smoking a cigarette lol. for what he is asking for everything, i could easily enjoy them and flip them later, i just dont need more vintage equipment laying around. i am only keeping my cd player, altec 3841's, and Realistic receiver right now. i am wanting to finally make the plunge into tubes and vinyl thx to Harry (hb27) always allowing me to listen to different set ups he's put together.
at $200, these are a bargain IMO. i will give these a few weeks at this price, it will not be dropping, and i am simply trying to help a fellow polkie listen to some audio history at a very afforable price. these speakers simply are not me, but they are a GREAT speaker.
i am not active on any other audio forums, and the only other place i am trying to sell these is craigslist. they are listed at $275 just to tell everyone how much i am dropping down the price on these for members of this site.

Then you would LOVE the Sansui SP-2000 that I have. They work fine, don't have a scratch on them, are in the original boxes, and I can't give them away here for $50 local pick-up. It must be a year already that they've been for sale here. Go figure.
I wish you lived closer so I could really make your dreams come true. -

wow. yeah i had some infinity's up for $50 for the longest time, and just yesterday sold them. id say atleast 3 months of trying to sell them. i guess it just takes the right person at the right time. these speakers will end up in my father in laws extra bedroom where he is putting a den into if they dont sell to anyone else.
its really sad to see that its so hard to get rid of great vintage audio, it really seems as though it is all dying slowly.

hehehehe....took me like 6.....
It does suck trying to sell stuff thats vintagen (or even a year or two old) right now. Need to find someone with lots of vintage gear to get my ears on to see what I like without having to buy it first lol..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."
