I thought I was buying the vinyl LP and figured it out too late to reverse it. The 24k Gold Special Edition part was not in the main description. Anyway, the cd arrived Monday and I played it last night. Exceptionally great sound quality; perhaps even better than Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat 25th anniversary edition cd. Not cheap but if you like Jennifer and want reference quality digital check it out.

I've got The Hunter on vinyl, well worth it. I'm sure the gold CD SQ (also done by Cisco) is awesome.
Wasn't FBR a 20th Anniversary release? Just curious, do you have the release with the extra tracks? If so, just an opinion of mine, but the best Ballad of The Runaway Horse done by Jennifer is on Rob Wasserman's Duets.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
Love to have that album on polyvinylchloride...
The song Way Down Deep (which I also quite like) is one of my default torture tests for loudspeakers - great way to find cabinet resonances and/or loose screws! -

You are correct, my mistake. I still want The Hunter on vinyl. I've got my local record guy checking on it for me. Yes mine (FBR 20th CD) has the bonus track(s) on the cd. I've got the original FBR on vinyl as well. A kind of cool find at a local used record store was a German release of FBR with a different cover. Near mint conditon and in the 3 for $5 section. The sound is almost identical to the US/Canadian release which was already fantastic but the new cover was kind of cool.SDA-1C (full mods)

I've got an original pressing of FBR too. I like Jennifer so I splurged for the 20th anniversary 45RPM 3 LP set. I took it with to Polk Fest and played it for Carl. He liked the SQ so much he ended up getting one. (He likes Jennifer too). EDIT: Matter of fact we stopped at analog97's house with it too and he was very impressed with the 45RPM pressing too.
I'm a fan of overseas pressings. Most of the time they are very good, depending on where they are made of course.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -

Rich, you are so right the 20th Anniversary Edition on 45 RPM vinyl is exceptional. I use it as one of my demo lps for the big SDAs. Analog97 claims it might be the best piece of vinyl that I own. I hope that you haven't forgotten that you gifted me a brand new, sealed copy of that FBR 20th Anniversary set. I sure haven't forgotten, It was a wonderful gesture. Thank you again!!!Carl -
I hope that you haven't forgotten....
Well, you did put me up and put up with me for a few days, so it was only fair. The Marantz museum at your place, that great Mexican restaurant, a long car ride, meeting up with folks, hearing different systems, selling speakers out of the back of your van. Good times!
That LP sounded fantastic on yours, Larry's and Joe's system!Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *
