PSW10 vs PSW111 on a Pioneer VSX820

Two weeks ago I bought a PSW10, then today I got a PSW111.
I read some good reviews about the PSW111, they seems to favor the PSW111 over the PSW10.
I wanted to do some side by side tests on it first to see which I liked better.
According to the specs:
http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/psw/specs.php
PSW10 50W Cont 100W Dynamic
PSW111 150W Cont 300W Dynamic
Just looking at the specs I expected the PSW111 to be atleast 2x in Volume.
After playing with the volume... I had the PSW111 set to MAX, and the PSW10 set to about 60% volume to get the same amount of bass level.
I have no clue why this is, could there be something wrong with the PSW111 amp? I am not an audiophile so I dont know much about this stuff.
Both were connected to the sub-out to the R Channel and both xover frequencies were set to max.
Is this normal?
Any comments would be appreciated.

I had the same problem, come to find out you have to turn the xover all the way off, on the receiver, and turn the xover knob on the sub all the way up. I have a psw110, 10 inch sub, its not as lud as my yamaha used to be but the sound is 100 times better.

When you say all the way off on the receiver... did you mean set it to the max??
The problem is they are both taking the same input...
When I set the 111 to 50% as directed in the instructions, its not very loud...
My 10 year old Soundworks DTT22000 sub for my PC is louder than this thing...
Thats why I suspect there is somethign wrong with the amp. There seems to be some serious attenuation somewhere after the input.
