Yes, ignore the bi-amp option for now. You may find that you need more power than your receiver, though. Try it as is and see what you think. What model receiver do you have?

I have a Yamaha HTR6230, 100 watts per channel, I figured the mon 50 need up to 150 and the 70 up to 250, so 100 would do for now. What rcvr would you suggest to buy to power these, 2 psw110's, and a cs10, around the 800 to 1200 mark.

I looked at both amps, and I think Im gonna go with the Pioneer Elite sc-25, you can get them new for a good price on amazon, and ebay, plus it is 140 per channel as opposed to 135, not saying 5 watts is a big dif, but Id rather go big and be happy then sit here syaing "I wonder what these would sound like if I wouldve bought the Pioneer." Thanks nguyendot

From all reports I've read on here, you've made a good choice! Those Pioneer AVRs have an excellent reputation. Do be sure to post back with your impressions, once you've got it all set up.

One thing to keep in mind, is that all receivers aren't rated the same. I can't find any benches on your current receiver, but just as an example: THe 1120k says it's rated @ 120wpc, but when put on the bench with 7 channels, it only put out 37 watts. The SC-37 says it puts out 140wpc, and driven with all 7 channels, it gets 125 watts.
Numbers aren't 100% of the story, but they are a good indicator. On paper, I would certianly expect a $2200 SC-37 to sound better than a $100 Aiwa that puts out 140wpc.
So the "only 5 watt" difference may be significantly more than you would expect. Enjoy your purchase - I have to wait for my taxes before I get my SC.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)
