So right now I got Infinity Primus 162's hooked up to my HK3490. I am debating seeing how the Monitor 40's do on it. Then whatever speaker I like better stays. Personally leaning toward the 40's since it gives me some extra space downstairs on the mounts to position things better.

My question is can I connect A & B on the HK to the a different set of binding posts on the Monitor 40's. I know this isnt bi-amping in its true form.....but would it work???

Just to try it out...see how it sounds. Its one thing to read about it from those that have done it, another to have done it and heard yourself.

Who knows maybe it will knock my socks off, maybe it wont. I just didnt want to do it if there was any chance it would blow the HK. Its WAAAAYYYYY to nice for that.

Plan this weekend is to have silvertuner over to let me listen to my Infinity Studio Monitors he got from me and modded, and AB those against my Primus, maybe the 40's.

Possibly gonna use the HK to drive my T90e's and then drive some of that stuff from the my Carver AV-705x amp.....

Also possibly some vintage low wattage recievers the mix to give even more comparisons....

You are better off just hooking them up normally. The way you propose would require an extra set of cables. You would be much better off with one set of good cables than two sets of mediocre cables. Also you would be using the same power and output devices "BiAmping" them.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
