my father in law takes way too good of care of me sometimes. we both have a love for vintage audio, classic rock, and being total smartasses. he spent the weekend in Chicago with his brother, who is also into audio. however, neither one has had the time to enjoy it the past 10 years. so what happens? i get to enjoy what has been sitting in a garage for 6 years in chicago, unused, collecting dust and cob webs. now none of this is "vintage collectors edition worth thousands" items, but i cant argue with the price of "free" to enjoy it at my leisure. i will be helping his brother sell this after i clean it all up, make sure it all works, and figure out a fair value for this stuff, unless i decide to keep it lol.
Anyways, it was all purchased new around 1976 i believe, havent cross referenced any model numbers or serial numbers, and am waiting to hear back from Harry on these as well for a brief "history" of just what i am working with here.
big, ugly speakers....
sp-x8900's, pair. need a lot of cleaning, not expecting these to be very musical honestly
integrated amp is au-d7... dusty dusty dusty
tape deck d-350m... cob webs and dust
tuner tu917... dusty dusty cob webs lol
curious to see how an old 80watt integrated sansui really sounds. maybe make my altecs reeeaaaally sing?

You've got at least $500 in those nasty speakers, and that GREAT tuna, believe it or not (combined). I haven't seen that particular amp with the meters, but in good working order, AU series amps of that era can bring you another $200-$300 pretty easy.
That's a pretty good score in my book. I'd say you are an instant $600, if you let them soak, and get the right buyer, you could be just this side of a grand if everything cleans up and works well.

well, thats always good to hear. i am VERY new to vintage gear, and have no idea what original msrp or current market value on anything is. waiting for everything to reach room temperature before i touch a wall outlet or amp with anything.
little more history, these were purchased NEW, IN JAPAN while his brother was in the service, and had them sent over when he came back over.

Yep that Tu719 is a great tuner worth 250.00 easily it is one of the VERY DESIRABLE tuners of all time
I have one and it will reach out and grab the stations even with a junk antenna -
Found a review of the integrated: http://www.gramophone.net/Issue/Page/December%201981/147/758076/Sansui+AUD7+amplifier#header-logo"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." went thru everything except the tape deck. it will wait til monday. got the tuner cleaned up, took the cover off of it and the circuit boards are spotless. not a spec of dust. it works about 80 percent, it could use an alignment, it seems to have a hard time wanting to really lock in real hard on a station. but everything does function, all buttons, display, lights, output. doesnt have that rock solid lock in like it should. im not sure what to even ask for this thing. i have it on CL for $140.
the speakers sound great for what they essentially are. gotta clean them up and price them and get the listed
the amp has some static in the volume control and balance control. may take some work to clean that up, but it does sing beautifully thru my altecs, with ample power. infact its overpowering for my altecs. it really drives the sansui's tho when i play "down to the waterline" from dire straits.
anyone have input on what a proper price should be for this equipment? the amp i was thinking $100 if i get it cleaned up and the static gone. the speakers im at a loss about

While I have never heard a set of those of Sansui's that I liked. There are many that collect them. I would guess in the $175-$250 range from what I have seen. If those sell for 5 bills, I know a certain "friends" house I will be visiting in the middle of the night!
That tuner looks sweet!--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
