Receiver/Speaker Combo?

I have a pair of vintage RT16's and RT12's and was curious what receiver would compliment them. I've read reviews from others saying the highs being sometimes harsh or fatiguing which I have noticed. I had my mind set on something by Denon but then a friend of mine suggested Yamaha. I guess what I'm asking is I want something that will add some warmth & smooth things out but still be clear & detailed. Hope my description makes sense. Thanks!

2 channel or surround sound. For 2 channel I second the HK recommendation.

Look at the ebay harmon kardon store for refurbs. You get a lot for a little. Ignore the watt output. HK rates their stuff much more realistically than a lot of companies that claim over 100wpc when really they are putting out less than the HK's at all channels driven. The HK's are nice warm yet dynamic receivers.

    Awesome!

ben, thanks for answering my next question regarding the output rating accuracy. I was aware of many companies receivers only being around 70ish% close to their "advertised" specs. Just didnt know where HK stood in the crowd. So how are the refurb's as far as reliablity is concerned, & I haven't looked yet but is there a great difference between refurb's, used or new? Most of the time the price is negligible. Anyways, the search begins. Thanks all for your input!

Is harmanaudio (Ebay store) a good place to buy from, anybody have any experience with them? They have quite a few refurb's up for auction right now.
