Corner Speaker placement help for 5.1 set up

Looking for some help with the layout for a 5.1 set up. I've attached a photo of the room with a suggested layout from the local audio /video shop. Speakers are labelled SP.

Does this make sense? Much appreciated. Jeff

Hi, Junior. Boy, that one's going to be a challenge, that's for sure. The surround speakers should, ideally, flank the listening area but assuming that you're going to use both seats there, that's a problem. But them too far to the ends of the couches (loveseats?) and you won't get sound from the opposite channel.

My advice: get four surround speakers* and wire them in parallel (if they're over 6 ohms) or in series if they're under. That can give you surround effects in either place.

Unconventional, yes, but maybe the right solution for your unusual area.

Doug, thanks for your response. I 've attached a revised layout using your suggestions. Is this what you had in mind.

    Thanks Jeff
