I had just purchased a refurbished Onkyo TX-SR707 at Accessories4less.com and it works great. My question is does anyone know if when you change channels on your satellite receiver if it changes the mode that it is on? When I change channels it changes the sound mode that is is on sometimes. Not all channels but some. I don't know if it is supposed to do that on its own if it senses it should be on a certain mode or if there is something wrong with it! The other issue is the sound on movies is great but when I have it on the sirius radio on the dish it is low. I have to turn it up alot louder! Is this normal? I appreciate any input!!

Some channels have digital sound, some don't. It will change mode because some are stereo, and some are 5.1 dolby digital. It senses what's coming in and changes accordingly. Perfectly normal.

You can go into the menu and change the reference level for every input. It's in the manual on how to do that.

My 707 is constantly "clicking" as I change channels on the television. My default setting for Cable/Sat is 'All Channel Stereo,' which seems to be the least common audio signal (except for old movies), commercials and such. Nothing wrong, just the Onkyo doing its job ...

Your Onkyo has a setup menu in which you will find something called Intellivolume (or something like that). This allows you to boost the volume signal for certain SOURCES that may not be as loud as others. Get into that menu (check your manual) and increase the volume there, this will solve your problem with sirius or any other source that is inputting a weaker signal.

I have a 607 and mine does not do that. It should not keep clicking.

I have one HDMI cable running from my DVR box to my receiver.

You want to run the Audyssey setup and keep those settings, not your own settings. That might be the problem. On the digital face of my receiver it says "Audyssey" lit up.

I did run the Audyssey setup and I saved those settings. Movies sound really good. Better than I have heard them before. But the Sirius radio on the dish don't sound as good. I have the dish run into the receiver with an optical cable and the HDMI from the dish to the tv cuz my wife wants to be able to watch tv sometimes without the surround sound on. I don't know if there are any ways to change just the settings on an individual input? Would it make a difference with the HDMI from the dish going right into the receiver and then out to the tv?

Thanks for the info! At least I know there isn't anything wrong with it. I'll see if I can find where to adjust the volume levels for the dish input and see if that works. Thanks again!

new to club polk first post.
i have the 707 as well. you can have your hdmi go right into the 707 and then to your tv. when the 707 is off it will take about 5 seconds for the signal to pass through the onkyo and will still goto your tv with video and sound. if not there must be a setting in the onkyo to set that. as for the volume issue this should salve it . everything i have is connected through HDMI except for my xbox and it never does the intellivolume thing. but try with the hdmi and see if that helps. oh and i as well got this from the same company but they were out of stock on referbished units so they sent me a new one  guess i lucked out
    hope this helps

Your onkyo reciver rembers what listening mode you last used for a certian type of audio format. So when you change channels the audio format of the programing changes and the reciever changes it accoringly.
