Hey there guys, first time post. So I have slowly been adding to my home theater here and basically have a few more parts to add. I live in a condo and I think I may have gone overkill on the setup but for the future when I move out I wont need to upgrade anything.

Question I have is would you recommend getting the FXIa4's for surround back speakers and what kind of centre would you recommend for matching up with monitor 70's

I have a yamaha HTR 6190 if that helps. Thanks in advance

    For the center channel: CS2

I don't see why you couldn't use the FXI's for the surrounds other than relative to the cost of the Monitor 70's they are a bit pricey. But you can always upgrade your mains.

You could easily get away with Monitor 40's for the surrounds just won't have the dispersion characteristics of a di-pole.

Nice receiver and welcome to CP.

Right now the FXiA4's are 299 at FS so I dont know if that is a good deal, but I also want to be able to mount these on the wall. I think the Monitor 40's are a little to big for that and seeing as how my couch is placed directly along the back wall having the ability to direct the sound towards my ears would be a better option yes no??

FXi are your best bet for placement on a back wall when your seating adjoins that wall, IMO.

Do you think they would make for good sound matching for the Monitor 70's I know as far as timbre matching they arent exactly a match but black is black in my mind

Timbre matching isn't so important in HT from front to rear, or so I've heard.

Get the largest monitor center channel you can. At least 60% of the movie content will go through the center channel. Trust me.
