Just wondering what some others here @ CP think of this listing. I'm not currently in the lead but would like to buy these but I'm afraid it will end up going for too much with at least $60 buck for shipping added in. The larger one appears to be a M5 but I don't know if this is a SL2500 tweet or not. The one in my M10's has the horizontal line for leads beside the tweet. The other is a M4 I believe but have no idea if these are older ones or the Series 2 stlye. Any input would be appreciated. I think I might go $120 max plus shipping. Thinking of using the 5's as surrounds and the 4's as either rear surrounds or front height. TIA

I'd pass. There are too many bidders right now and the 5's have the SL1000 tweeter which sucks. Keep an eye out on craigslist for something local. Also if you would put your general location under your profile you may get some help from local Polkies.

I did add my location, so now if any Polkies nearby have any monitors they might consider letting go of you can PM me and I'll provide my email. I'd like to have some 5's or 7's as backups for my 10's so that in the near future I can try to upgrade the crossovers in the 10's. I don't want to have to use the surrounds I have now as my main LR while the work is being done. I'll keep an eye out on the For Sale side and probably add a want to buy shortly. You mentioned the tweets in the 5's in the ad were SL1000's, can you tell me which tweeter my 10's have w/ the horizontal line? I know it's not the Peerless and I've never had them apart to look at the back of the drivers. I'll try to post some pics of my setup in the system showcase as soon as I can locate the pics on my computer. There are some Monitor 7s on e-bay with no bids and less than 30 minutes to go. He's listed a starting bid at $129. They have the 2000 tweeters. Just FYI.
There are a pair of 7s on e-bay also. Every 7 or 5 that I've seen for sale have had the 2000 tweeter. I finally gave up looking for a pair with the better tweeter and bought a pair of 7s and ordered the RDO replacements from Polk for about $100 shipped. The 7s aren't plentiful unless you're near a Goodwill store or a dump.
