I'm looking at a pair of Dynaco A-35's. The price is $95, are they worth driving 50 miles for? I spoke with guy selling them and saw pics, they seem to be in nice shape. Your thoughts please.

Nice sounding speakers for their age. Price is decent if they are in good shape. I've got a pair of A25's that sound really nice. I'm thinking go for it.

Thanks Fongolio, most of the info on line is about the A25's. From everything I read these maybe well worth the drive.

    I just finished refreshing a set of A 35's.

    Sonicap/mills, sanded down, refinished.

They look and sound great. Good imaging but a bit too directional. Positioned right I think they would make a great small two channel setup or even front speakers in an HT application.

Given the number of these speakers that were sold back in the day I should think that you would be able to find a set a bit cheaper. (I found one pair by a dumpster one day and 2 months later I helped a lady set up her new inwall 5.1 and she just gave me her "old speakers")

If you have to drive that far I would definitely try to talk the seller down a bit.
    Sounds good to me...

Never heard the A-35's but the A-25's are pretty damn sweet.

Dynaco and Jamo are two of my favorite speaker brands (next to the Polk SDA line of course)....guess I just like that Danish design and sound.

The desired Vintage Dynaco speakers will have the "Made in Denmark" stamp on the back terminal panel, and will have the more desired Seas drivers.

I have attached a pdf file I had floating on my HD giving a comparison and more info on the Dynaco line.
