Authorized online dealer question

So looking at Pioneers website, it lists Amazon as an online authorized dealer. I'm assuming that this would NOT include their Elite line correct? Just wanted to confirm.
Kind of on the subject, and I know it's been asked before - If you had the choice, would you:
A) Goto Best Buy and drop $2200 on the SC-37 and get the factory warranty;
Order from a reputable place online and get the squartrade warranty; or
C) Find a "local" retailer that would be willing to ship and keep my fingers crossed the warranty will follow?
Looking at picking up the SC-37 in the next couple of weeks, and just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I make a mistake.

From what I remember the Elite line cannot be sold online. As for what I would do (did), I have the AVR and amp in my signature for well under $2200 but the amp was picked up lightly used 5 years ago. If you are set on that AVR my preference is getting one with a warranty. I had to take mine in recently for a firmware upgrade for HDMI drop outs. They also redressed the cables and now it works like a champ, all covered by warranty.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

Amazon lists some of the Elite receivers but they are sold through other dealers. They don't say if the dealers are authorized Pioneer dealers or not. The receiver you're looking at is selling for around $1500+. Have you looked at the 1120 receiver?TO ERR IS HUMAN. TO FORGIVE IS CANINE.

I have considered the 1120, but the only real gain that I would see is the addition of HDMI (plus some codecs along with the HD standard). Otherwise my H/K receiver that I've got currently supports 7.1 (analog) and puts out almost twice the power of the 1120. I'm pretty much going for the ICEamps (vs getting a pre and amp) - and the difference between the 35 and the 37 are enough to justify the cost between the 2 models.
Not looking to incite an arguement (already did this in another thread) - but here is what I've read: the Pioneer 1120k was reviewed by home theater magazine last month and the test bench was like 37 watts with 7 channels driven. The SC-37 gets 125.4 watts with 7 channels driven continuously. I know the bench isn't the end all of everything, but some of these numbers do have a story to tell.
So all in all, I guess I would have to say that I'm pretty set on the SC-37. I've started all of the AVR vs AVR threads, researched, and read all I've needed and I'm sure I won't be disappointed in the end.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

I use my 1120 with an Adcom 7500. The 1120 is strictly for a preamp and video. I don't really pay much attention to magazine or ezine test or write-ups.:biggrin:TO ERR IS HUMAN. TO FORGIVE IS CANINE.
