Would the Rti4 be a good addition as Front High speakers in my 7.1 setup?

I'm considering a small and cheaper addition to my HT setup or I might use them for some side or rear surrounds if I can find a place for them.

Rti 4's would be a perfect addition to your current setup, but I don't think your receiver will do 9.1.

Oh no I meant I would do a 7.1 but I'd do 4 front speakers plus center

4 front speakers? Are you planning on running the rti 4's off the front speakers?

Unless you put your front hight speakers very high, you will not get a effect that you think you will..I have front hightz up and, my ceiling is to short for the hightz to do any great affects

I see this may not work for me because we have a standard ceiling and I'm pretty sure I won't get wife approval to place them higher than the towers next to our TV anyways.

Is it worth getting two more speakers with this receiver considering it's got a rather weak amp section? I believe it's 110 watt rating is way overrated though I'm pleased with its output in 5.1.

Why mess with it if you're pleased? 5.1 is great. You need a fairly large room to really appreciate 7.1.

I've done a front wide and front high setup and it's cool, but for a small room....let's pick <20 wide, I wouldn't spend the money. My experiment was with dual SurroundBars so YMMV.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

My room is fairly large I think but my listening area isn't if that' makes sense. My HT room is my living room which is an open floor plan so my left channels have no wall while my right channels have a wall with an opening into our bed room (mini hallway and a 45 degree turn into a bedroom w/door). The right rear surround speaker has a wall behind it while the left rear has an open area where the front door is located...confused yet  I may have to post picks but excuse the mess because we have a 3 month old and a 2 year old that strows everything around the house she can get ahold of .

i added rear surround to my setup, and i can actually notice the difference. i'm currently using an 80wpc yamaha, and it's good. i will be getting the 1120 though, so i think it will get a little better. i think that the rear surrounds don't require tons of power, so the receiver you have should be just fine.
