Follow-up on my speaker dilemma

Just in case anyone is curious, I finally got my speakers. Not the 600i & sub, not the 55i, not anything I really asked advice about! I actually went with the 800i which were on sale for 700/pair at circuit city. I immediately hooked up one speaker normally and one bi-wired and did notice a slight but certain change in the imaging. The bi-wired speaker sounded more open especially in the upper midrange. I compared the speakers with several different types of music (including choral which in my opinion is much more revealing in regards to a speaker's reproduction of source than most other genres) and spoken dialogue. The 800i is a very rich and powerful speaker, I prefer floor standing and it has so far blended very well with the 245i for movies and most music. The stereo imaging is great and it fills up the entire main room of our apartment (vaulted ceilings and 12 by 23). The final decision came down to my ears, I could have gotten the 1000i for only a hundred more total, but I preferred the warmth that the dual drivers on the 800i offered. Thanks for all of your help, Timmy.

i chose the 800i's for many of the same reasons. i still haven't had a chance to biwire them, but it is on the schedule soon, very soon.

Great pick!!! just wondering what color did you decide on?

I went with black. Cherry would have been nice, but I don't know how we will decorate our future house, and I wanted a universal color.Tim
