How do SPAMMERS make $$??

My assumption is that they only make money when someone actually clicks on their links... NOT when they simply place them in a forum. I could be wrong on this, but I can't see how a link could be profitable unless it were clicked on.

SO, WHOEVER IS CLICKING ON THE FREAKING LINKS HERE... KNOCK IT OFF!!:eek::wink::biggrin:

Seriously, let's make CP a place where dropping spam is NOT worthwhile. Just an idea, although I doubt it will actually work.

Whew, had to get that out. There's been a real influx lately, hasn't there?

Their bots are everywhere at forums without strict verification policy. So it doesn't matter if you click on the links or not, they will keep posting
My forum actually has a banned ip address list; admins keep adding spammers' ip address to it to jail repeated offenders. Most of those ip addresses are from Russia - Czech - Holland - China - Midle East countries.

I don't believe clicking their link is sufficient for spammers to make money, I would believe you actually need to buy from the link, right?

Like DMara said, they're indiscriminate with who they spam.

Polk does have a banned IP list; it's been mentioned before.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

It's a flood recently, happens about once a year where it gets REALLY bad for a couple of weeks, then it should die down. Just keep reporting them, we will keep deleting and banning them.

    Cheers,

How 'bout one free ban with your 10,000th post?

On the plus side is the paranoia when the spam post is pulled leaving "REPORTED" immediately below the post above the spam...
    More later,
