    I will admit that what we don't know is the outcome if people had simply removed drivers, perhaps gently cleaned/soft brushed the cabinet inset and driver rims, and then properly snugged the screws back down.

    Just cleaning and tourquing (assuming gaskets are still close to airtight) may have been responsible for some (or evan all) of the improvement noted.
