I am ready to upgrade my sub to either a SVS PB13-Ultra (buying directly from SVS website) or JL Fathom F113 (on Audiogon), which one depending on the Audiogon bargaining result. Therefore today I have put my mint, no-scratch no-nick Polk Audio DSW microPro 4000 on CL for $800 (http://houston.craigslist.org/ele/2155138047.html).

Now for CP members, I will offer it for $650, but it has to be local pick-up (Houston - Katy area) since the original box is too flimsy, and I am not good at packing heavy devices. All accessories will be included (manual - power cable - calibration microphone).

This piano-gloss microPro 4000 sub has been paired with my Lsi HT setup (front Lsi15's - center LsiC - surround LsiFX's), and it has always amazed myself as well as my friends for bass clarity in huge room, no boomy sound at all!

As an AV addict, now that the opportunity arose, I could not run away from the so-called "upgradatis" disease no matter how satisfied I have been with my microPro 4000

You can buy replacement boxes and packing material for very cheap from Polk. I would guess around $25 for everything with free shipping.

    Very nice sub you got.

I'm leaning toward the SVS, too, even though the JL would look way better due to its smaller size. Thanks for the good words, guys

It's primarily used for watching movies (95% of the time), and it has certainly done its job. It digs pretty deap, providing enough pressure to shake my entire 16x20 living room. I'm sure there are plenty of other CP members who have experienced this model; I found one review from our own DarqueKnight: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67550

I didn't, danz, even though I could save plenty of money going that route (another microPro 4000 is currently on sale for $800 on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Polk-DSW-microPRO-4000-12-HOLIDAY-SPECIAL-100-OFF-/390276256812?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item5ade47142c). The main reason is because I'd like to experience other so-called "elite" models of subwoofer, you know, kinda expanding my horizon

I know the feeling, I didn't realize that the mp4k cost as much as a SVS Ultra13.

Will the mp4000 go with my mp 2000. I currently am running a dsw 450 with the mp2000 and thinking of possibly running 4 subs in my 15x28 room, 2 mp2000 and 2 mp4000. I've read that all subs should be the same.

I'm getting decent bass, but when i was at ultimate electronis listening in their theater room, i compared 3 sytems they had hooked up, A sony es running focal speakers, a rxa2000 running klipsch speakers, and a denon 3311 running deinitive speakers.. The sound of the definitive supercube 1 was awseome compared to the others, even at a lower volume you could feel the bass vibrate the bottom of you pant legs, awesome! The other 2 systems didnt do that even at the higher volume.
Will the mp4000 do the same?
