Even if it has hookups for 4, you should only play 2 at a time, it's stereo (2 channel).

It's not really made to power 4 simultaneously.

Gotcha, thanks for the link Mikey. Run speakers A and B together, was thinking this was an older 2 channel, some had that option, some didn't. Regardless, he'll be fine.

Keiko's gotcha...I have an HK 3490 running a couple of CSW Model 6s (Kloss design) in the den. A very sweet sounding combo on the cheap! Can't believe how good this combo sounds and how LITTLE I paid for everything, new, a while back!

Enjoy and don't clip your receiver!

Great advice! Find the 'sweet spot' and stay in that range, and if any Citation equipment shows up in your area, don't hesitate to snap them up!

Things will sound vastly better with only one pair of speakers at a time. When you're running both the A + B outputs at the same time, it's essentially halving the power that each speaker is receiving, and presenting a more complex load to the amp, causing it to work harder.

Stereo is meant for two speakers anyway.

O.k. Im trying hard not to be thick headed. If 2 channel is better for 2 speakers and 5.1 is better for home theater. What will be my best bet.Keep in mind I'm new to this. The more I read these forums the more feel dumb as a rock.

You need to decide whether you want a conventional, 2 channel stereo presentation or if you prefer a surround effect. My advice....get a preamp, power amp (100+wpc) & two good speakers (SDAs) Call it a night !
