Here is the tweeter I am thinking of using for a project:

For $37 each, can I do better? Crossover point is around 1800 - 2000

Thanks folks,
Eric.

That's one of the best choices for under $50.

Are you going active or passive? What kind of slopes? If passive, unless you go very steep, you'll need a zobel to knock out the hump at it's FS.

That Vifa would be good, here are a few other good choices for under $50. All will work perfectly fine down to 1.8k.I use the SEAS H1212 with an active xover at 2k and it is the best metal dome I have heard.

What woofer are you going to use?
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Thanks guys and I am a bit of a rookie so Face you spoke over my head LOL.

Here is what I am doing so bare with me:

I have 2 sets of Klipsch KG2's...one pair kind of used the other pair mint. These little bookies produce huge bass and I love them for that. I am going to use one pair of these for a modest 2-channel rig and save up for some LSi's.

I already bought cap and resistors (Dayton's and Mills) and some nice Sanus stands. To upgrade the tweeters Bob Crites said he would charge $58 shipped for titanium diaphrams.

Then I got to thinking, I could try a different tweeter just for giggles.

So I already have the enclusure with the 8" woofer with a 10" passive and plenty of room for a new tweeter.

But Face you got me thinking it is much more complicated. The speakers are 4 ohm, as well is the tweeter and they are rated 90 db.

Jsut looking to have a little fun and try to improve the sound a bit.

    Help!!!

If what I said was over your head, order the Bob Crites diaphragms.

The crossover uses a 3 ohm resistor, 4uf cap, 8uf cap and 24uf cap.

Can the exact crossover frequency for the tweeter be determined by these values?

Not without having electrical and acoustic measurements of the driver in question.

    Thanks folks,
    Eric.

I was higely recomemded those but the faceplate was huge so I found these the vifa xt25sc90-04 PE#264-1014 at only $20 each , I realize it may not be as good but w/a 5" that cant put out the major db it should be a decent setup (plus it fits better) .

The tweeter in the first post doesn't have a huge face plate, it uses the standard size for most aftermarket tweeters.

Yes I canceled this project anyway with the addition of my new LSi9's!
