Just wondering if older IC cables need to be re-terminated? Do the solder joints oxidize over time?

I'm getting good results with an old pair of XLO Pro100 IC's. I purchased them back in 99 or 2000 but I'm sure their production date was way before then.

    Shouldn't be a problem.

if it works and you dig the sound then beyond a little cleaning now then your all set. Its always great when you find some gear or wire etc that totally satifsfies you.

Yes, but surface only. The solder joint itself won't be compromised.

The surfaces where you do need to be concerned are the RCA jack and connector. With everything turned off simply break and remake the connection a few times each. Should clean any modest corrosion adequately, and unless you live at the shore or in a heavily polluted city (or still smoke indoors..), modest corrosion should be all you experience. I do this every time change... Gold plated connections can be exempted, if you like.

If you suspect corrosion may be more of an issue in your location, Caig or other cleaner may be warranted.
