I would at least make the attempt to get replacement tubes. For that kind of investment, you ought to be happy with the result.

So I just sent the bad tube back to China. The seller said they would refund my shipping fees and send me a new tube when they receive the bad one.

I am very close to grabbing a quad of these. I've already got the Psvane 12AX7 and 12AU7's in my amp and it sounds great. The thought that it could sound even better is enough to produce a little wood....which at my age is rather exciting in itself.

Just received my quad of Treasure KT88's from Hanshare Electronics in China, $259 shipped and supposedly matched. Came in individual paper boxes and all are labeled at 41mA plate current. Extremely well packed. So I've now totally re-tubed going from 4 x EH KT88, 4 x Amperex Holland orange globe 12AU7 and 1 x Amperex Holland 12AX7 to 4 x Shuguang Treasure KT88, 4 x Psvane 12AU7 and 1 x Psvane 12AX7.
The pre-amp tubes have been in a while but the KT88's just went in last night. First listen was with a few very well recorded CD's with which I am very familiar, Bob James Morning, Noon and Night, then Spyro Gyra's Dreams Beyond Control, and then Deep Purple Made in Japan remaster.
My brother was here and the listening session was an excellent one. We were both pretty blown away with the SQ, so if it improves further I will be very happy. Probably a tad more depth, clarity and a little more liquid sounding than the previous tube compliment, which were damn good in their own right.

    Pic......

Just wait, you are in for a treat. They will sound like crap then good and repeat but get 25-30 hours on them and they stabilize and get sweeter.

    Great price.

I am ready to sell mt vintage TS 6550C grey plate 3 holes.

    Your amp is gorgious.

OK George now I am confused.
I thought the 6CA7 and the 6P3SE could sub for each other and were for the VTLs
PS if you need someone to burn those in for you ....

Yep and the best prices I could find. They stood by the busted tube I had too.

George let me know what you think of them. I might get a quod for my Jolida amp or an octet for the PrimaLunas. If you can let me know how they compare to the GL reissues.
