...no matter you try to get done you can never get anywhere because it's an endless parade of interruptions?

I don't think it would have been so bad if 75% of the interruptions weren't from people who decided to stay home because of the 2 freaking inches of snow today. I'm one of only 3 people out of 12 in the office today and they all keep asking me to go do one thing or another for them because they are "working remotely".

Yes, but then I simply close my browser.

I stop answering the phones for people who call in "working remotely". Caller ID is great.

Yeah well, if I stop answering the phones, they IM me. If I shutdown the IM, they email me. Since that goes to my cellphone whether I like it or not, it'll vibrate on my hip to the point of rage. My ability to shut off warnings selectively on my cell is disabled. So it's hard to ignore it. Day likes these, the browser can be a sanity check.

And the dozens of phone calls asking when it will be back up always speeds the process up, doesn't it?
