Eastern PA polkies

Hi all...
I recently moved from Southern NJ to the Lehigh Valley PA. I am living in Bethlehem, looking for a permanent place (probably around Nazareth) within the next year or so. I always had my South Jersey connection (Hi George). Anytime some gear came around that was local, I'd contact the locals and see if they were interested, and vice versa. I was wondering who may be near, so we could share the local deals, and offer support, etc. to the local polkies. Thanks, and have a nice, snowy day (In the Lehigh Valley, at least).

Thanks George...I need it. The new job is going well, and had a nice holiday.
TNRabbit... That website seems to be the Pittsburgh area which I believe is about a 6 hour drive. I was hoping to connect with some polk forum members that were a bit closer. I also know, sometimes information isn't updated, so looking at the location in yoru profile may not be correct. Mine still says South Jersey (About to fix it)

I live no where near you so I can be of no use whatsoever.
Ah hell, you probably like it that way!Expert Moron Extraordinaire
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -
Well, welcome to PA! While I like to look at deals it's rare I actually get a chance to take advantage of them. But if I see anything available I'll let you know....if you want to make the 2 hr drive.
We are in your neck of the woods each August for Music Fest...nothing like walking around with a beer, munchng out and listening to free music all day!Yep, my name really is Bob.

I'm down just outside of Reading. Unfortunately, this immediate area seems to be a nuclear wasteland when it comes to good audio deals. Which might be a good thing considering I don't have much play money these days anyway. I'll let you know if anything interesting comes up.

I'm still fairly close to you--about an hour drive.
Welcome to PA. :cool:____________________

I'm a musicfest pro - but never pay the money for the elite concerts. You're right - good food (not cheap though) good music, etc. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law lived in an apartment in Bethlehem right on the main road. They always complained because they had the 'new-age' music with pan flutes and stuff played like 18 hours a day. They hated it

Also looks like Bluecomet is just over an hour north of you and if I recall CNH has family in the same area.____________________

NJ's loss is PA's gain, at least you got out of NJ before they locked the doors.
I know Dan (Mantis) is in the Philly area. -
Hey - I've actually located a couple things I'd like to buy in that area, but am having difficulty arranging pick-up times. Any chance someone can help me out?
-
Big Dawg -
Link it to me in a PM. I live in a dinky little apartment, but if it's not too big, I have no problems holding onto some stuff for you.

I have plenty of storage space if it's more out my way......Yep, my name really is Bob.

Big Dawg, if Pycroft is able to handle pickup from the seller and what not, if too big for his place, or if more convenient for you (I might be closer to you not sure), I can pick up stuff from Pycroft and hold for you until pickup can be arranged as well. So kind of a Polkie Express - (or what's the term?)
*EDIT*
Or if closer to me and I can swing it (lots of kid activities after work lately), I can pick up from the seller as well.____________________

That's an awesome offer. Pycroft is currently picking something up for me. I may try this Polkie Express thing out (will I need to shave my armpits so that I can fight better?). -

That's right Mike. My sister is in the Scranton area not to far from Bluecomet. And we both have our parents house in Easton under renovation...may sell or rent. I haven't run that by James because I don't think this would be his cup of tea? And I don't know if my sister has rented yet.
That's a nice offer by James. Since I'm up about 500 miles from there, I do occasionally swing south and could deliver smaller items on the route from here to Eastern, Pa. The problem is that I can't predict when I'm coming down...probably mostly during the winter and summer breaks. I'd be happy to pick something up that fits in the old car if the opportunity presents itself.
