Audiovox buying Klipsch Group

at least it looks like they are keeping the omni polar technology. looking at some of the CES coverage the new JAMO omni polars definitely interesting looking and JAMO should hopefully stay decent if they keep the designing back in Europe. Also read that due to high Chinese production costs some Klipsch manufacturing is coming back to the states. read it at the hometheater.com CES coverage.

That's good news.
I also think that a label that says "Made in the USA" still carries prestige in the world. Especially for an expensive speaker.
Man, I remember not so long ago that I can go down to my local Best Buy and purchase a pair of California-designed/manufactured JBL HLS-610 bookshelf speakers for under $200.00/pair. -

I love the 610's!!! I have them for my H/T in a 7.2 set up. They hold their own very very well. -
Wasn't this a story last year or just a rumor. So if this a done deal which by all accounts is not for the better.WE do see bigger companys buy what they want and in turn dissolve them over time. As a minor Klipsch owner I would hate to see this as again if money did come in I would love a pair of either rf7s or the bigger rf82s and still going back the KLFs 20s 0r 30s. Lascallas,Belles, K-korns are both way to big and command high prices. Yes it's a different sound to what you Polkies like but ther no denying Klipsch has a monster/loyal following.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

The deal is done; Audiovox owns the Klipsch Group, which includes brands like Jamo, Mirage and Energy. With Mirage disappearing (pardon the pun), I think Energy will be the next brand to go and only the Klipsch/Jamo brands will remain.
I just realized that NHT is basically the only speaker company surviving the big implosion that would ultimately take down AR, Advent, Mirage, Enengy, MB Quart, and Athena Technologies.
Btw, I think Harman Int'l is killing off Infinity as a home speaker brand. -

Not too sure about that one. I thought it was true when they killed off the Primus line and didnt have new models out, but they did eventually hit the stores. I think they may however be scaling back their product lines and not having a ton of overstock.
I would hate to see them go as my Primus 162's are a really good set of bookies.
