Great concert!! Wednesday night they were in Calgary and had to travel durring a really nasty snow storm, so the show was late getting started but well worth the extra wait. About two solid hours of Joe doing all his great stuff. Excellent band with him as well.

Pics or it didn't happen? I've got 275 pics and 3 videos including 1 of Flying In a Blue Dream in it's entirity. I also took some artsy fartsy black and whites that turned out awesome. If you get a chance go see this man live, you won't be disappointed.

Well here you go. Both low def and hi def versions. If you chose hi def, leave it for a while and the whole video will download and stop lags.

    Low def:
    <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xatqYQbJRpo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xatqYQbJRpo?fs=1&hl=en_US&quot; type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

    and Hi def:

    <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SrLnIwQuxxw?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SrLnIwQuxxw?fs=1&hl=en_US&quot; type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Kelowna has a population of around 150,000 so it's not really small town but the theater he played in only seats 853 so it's a very intimate venue as far as a giant act like Joe Satriani goes. Almost next door is an arena that seats at least 5000 and I know he could have sold that out, so it was a real treat to see him in this venue and even better to get the fantastic seat that I did for only $77.

photos, instead of fotos.... I knew there was something wrong with my spelling of that word when I posted earlier.

Thank you. The camera is fa ixed lens style SLR Panasonic Lumix FZ28. It's the most versatile and yet easy to use fixed lens I've ever owned and it did most of the work. I just had to frame them properly and catch the moments. I've owned a lot of different multi lens SLR's from Pentax to Nikon but for my purposes this camera does almost anything the multi lens's do but is way more convenient. It even has fully manual focus if I want it and also 18x optical zoom. It does 720p video but the sound sucks. Overall great camera though.

Those are great photos, nice job. Here's a photo of an earlier vinyl album showing a more hirsute Joe. Anybody know where the shot was taken?

Talk about overlooking the obvious, I don't know why but I thought it was a New York/New Jersey bridge.

Ah, that is a good point. I've never been to San Fran, but I always got the impression the approach to the bridge was pretty high. Bridges over the Hudson/East River seem lower, maybe less land to build up the approach?

That nails it, thanks! I can very clearly remember the first time I heard that record. I was working at a stereo store in B-more and a customer brought it in to listen to some speakers. Infinitys, I think. Been a fan ever since.

That's an Ibanez JS2400. It's the prototype- and the only red one I think. I have one on order nice 24 fret rig with a high pass filter but only comes in white. On another note, he's coming to Dallas this week and I have had tix for months. Found out I have to go to Detroit for work so missing show. Gave the tix to my girl and she's taking her teenage son who is also a fan so at least they won't go to waste.

Great live performer.. but the mix can make or break the deal depending on who's running the knobs the venue. I've been to shows where he's crystal clear and jab dropping and other shows where it was just a muddy wall of sound.

My son and I saw him live a few miles from our house at a little venue called Starland Ballroom (holds about 2,000) a couple years ago, less than a year before he formed Chicken Foot. Leslie West and Mountain also played. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
