internal volume of monitor 10?
Does anyone know the internal volume of the monitor 10? I know the external measurements, but if someone could let me know on how thick the walls are that would be great. I am looking to rebuild the monitor 10's that I have into surrounds that would match my 2.3's.

no i do not have the cabinets, so i can not measure them, but I have all the pieces for it...long story, dont ask...something to do with my wife, a piece of concrete retaining wall and a hole in my cabinet

If you REALLY want to know, just remove the passive radiator from one of the cabinets and carefully measure inside.
If you don't want to do that, then take the outside measurements for height and width and subtract at LEAST 1.5 inches from each dimension (that assumes 3/4" thick material). Take the outside measurement for depth and subtract 2"... to account for potentially thicker baffle (1"?) and the inset of the back panel.
If you do that AND are going to use the same drivers, you need not do special calculations for driver displacement. If you're going to rebuild them, you're going to have to take the drivers out anyway.. so I'd take a PR out, measure inside, note any bracing (which will reduce internal volume). If you can, use the same sheet of stuffing currently inside.

So, roughly, you've got 26.5 x 13.5 x 10 = just over 2ft3.
Assuming there is a brace or two, I'd shoot for around 2ft3 of usable volume, use the stuffing you have. Don't base your new box on outside dimensions, especially if you use thicker material.
Edit: reread your initial post... using them as surrounds... why do you need to rebuild them?? Are the current cabinets the wrong shape for how you want to place them?? Be aware (as if you couldn't tell from looking at your 10s).. 2ft3 is a BIG box. As you start changing one dimension, the others will obviously have to change as well. -
my wife broke the cabinets a few years back, and i was smart enough to keep the parts, but i threw away the cabinets. i was keeping my drivers as spares, but then I thought, hey why not just build new speakers with these components, which is why i need the box volume.
