RTi A7 or RTi A9 ?

Hi all,

I`m new here

My room is 5 m X 4.5 m; it`s a somewhat big room - or at least for my standards...

Would a RTiA7 be big enough to fill it up with sound ? Or may I try the RTiA9 instead ?

What if I buy a RTiA9 and move later to a smaller house, would it be a problem or just lowering down the volume would be enough ?

Thanks so much,
Mongo

I would say it depends on what type of power you will be feeding these, external amplification or AVR?

since you didn't mention about $. I would say go for A9s, so later on you don't have to say "what if"

Of course, bigger is better. Just be aware of how large they actually are. They're actually too tall for my application - directly under my projection screen. Also account in your budget for adequate amplification, which I think you should really consider for either speaker.

    Size doesn't necessarily = volume.

What you get going from the A7 to the A9 is an extra mid-bass driver, extra woofer, and a better crossover (cascade tapered array). These make the a9 more pronounced in the low frequencies (bass), and more articulate in the mid-range. It's more a matter of sound quality than anything.

So A9 all the way for me.

My preference is actually the A5 (for HT at least)

    Thanks to everybody that replied,

As I may move later on in my life - but not necessarily to a bigger place...maybe...maybe not... - it looks like the A9 will be the best bet, as I`ll always have the power to fill whatever room.

    Do you agree ?

    Thanks,

    Mongo,

That's right, because Rti-A9s can handle a lot of juice and put out a lot of sound. You're good!

Nice to know since I just ordered a pair of A7's from crutchfield for $549 each.

Guess I didn't get hurt to bad since crutchfield gave you a free Polk PSW111 sub or a $299 credit twards another Polk sub. I opted for the $299 credit twards a DSW Pro 550wi.

It is for one speaker only.....so the future shop deal I/we leveraged on Boxing Day still trumps anything I have seen by quite a large distance. ;)
