Final set up

I may have asked this before but, I couldn't find it.
I am down to two decisions. The first being which front three speakers to get. Monitor 50s or Monitor 60s. It is a 12X16 room but, I don't listen anywhere near "reference" levels. A sub will be in the mix. Crossed over at 80Hz or so.
Second. Is HD radio any good? Denon 1911 has it. 1611 doesn't. Is it worth $200? Will it be around in 5 or 10 years?

    Monitor 60.

    HD radio is already here, in just about every market. The quality is CD quality now instead of crap quality.

    Is it worth 200? no. But im sure there are other features from 1611 to 1911 that are worth it.

    OK. Monitor 60s it is. They don't cost much more than the 50s.
    As far as the debate over the 1611 or the 1911, I will just see what deals come up. I was thinking of the 2311 just for the better GUI but, that is not a big concern for me. And not worth the $300 premium over the 1911.

    OK. Now I have a issue. I went to Newegg and noticed the Cherry Monitor 60s are sold out! I do not want black. Will they get more soon? I didn't call.

    If you can afford the extra cash, go for the AVR-2311CI (or last years model) as they have pre-outs. This will allow you much more flexibility later on if you need more power to your speakers......

    Newegg will get in more Monitor 60's in cherry no doubt. They are the only folks carrying them so it might be a little while, but I wouldnt worry tooo much.....

    1911 over 1611.

    60's over 50's.

    I just got off the phone with Polk and they said they are not going to replenish Newegg with the cherry Monitor 60s until April!!

    I have other speakers that can suppliment until then. I am not in THAT big of a hurry.
    As for the reciever, Same thing. But I don't need the pre outs Endershadow. I would more than likely upgrade the reciever when time comes.

    Then sounds like your set for the time being. I finally got myself setup as well with the HK 3490 upstairs w/ Primus 162's and my Integra + Carver setup downstairs....

    Now just awaiting the firesale on currently LSi models when the LSiM's come out..... :biggrin:

    I read a blurb on the LSiMs and they were well recieved! Not the second coming of the SDAs but, pretty good!
