Got to love Craigslist.

I think I need to get me some of those "random" speakers, but I can't find much info on them.Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. Magneplanar MMG speakers, M&K MX1250 Subwoofer, Pro-Ject RM1.3 Genie TT with Sumiko Pearl MM cart., Keces DAC, Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD player

hahaha! It's those posts that end up being some rare crzy expensive speaker too. This guy was telling me about responding to an ad that just said "a whole bunch of old stereo junk for 50 bucks" and he came back with all kinds of cool old vintage gear and a huge tackle box full of NOS tubes.design is where science and art break even.

Actually, that' s probably how my wife will get rid of all of my stereo stuff about 5 minutes after I am gone.Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. ask, I have some random questions to ask you.
-
There are exactly two kinds of people in this world:
1. People that finish what they start
and
2. People (like the random speaker poster) who....you know.........whatever.Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. Magneplanar MMG speakers, M&K MX1250 Subwoofer, Pro-Ject RM1.3 Genie TT with Sumiko Pearl MM cart., Keces DAC, Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD player -
I have a theory. Maybe this guys wife is making him sell his toys. And he may think if his posts on Craigslist are bland maybe people won't take the time to inquire.--Gary--

I don't want to restart a red-hot controversy but:
Do "random" speakers sound better with Carver or Adcom amplifiers?Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. Magneplanar MMG speakers, M&K MX1250 Subwoofer, Pro-Ject RM1.3 Genie TT with Sumiko Pearl MM cart., Keces DAC, Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD player -

As long as you use a tube buffer to make the randomness sound more tubey !Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. Magneplanar MMG speakers, M&K MX1250 Subwoofer, Pro-Ject RM1.3 Genie TT with Sumiko Pearl MM cart., Keces DAC, Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD player -

Don't laugh. My brother found some 1960's vintage fisher tube gear, in the wood cases (which go for $100-$150 a pop), from an ad like that. For $20 a piece... When he is done cleaning them, they'll go for somewhere around $2k.
Just sumthin to ponder... -

Mine to...LOL:biggrin:Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
LOL!!!!!!!!!
You see these kind of hackjob posts on craigslist all the time. It might be worth contacting the guy to find out what kind of gear he has on sale. Indeed, treasures may come from a little digging... -
My question is...who would actually reply to this type of post and actually be interested in purchasing some random speakers.
"Honey, I am going to take this year's tax return and go buy some speakers"
"What type of speakers were you thinking about...for the rec. room maybe?"
"I dunno...I haven't really thought it out. Just some random speakers. Let me check Craigslist..." -
I've heard some "Random" speakers in a show room once. Very laid back sounding. I wonder if he's selling the "Random-Ness" or the much more rare "Random-Ly"''s. How come all the good stuff is always so far away?SDA-1C (full mods)

ROFLMAO! That's exactly what would happen to me too...... ><////(*> -

I fear motorcycles and guns would suffer the same fate.
I should probably "gift" all that stuff out first if I felt like I was circling the drain or was soon to experience an "accident".
Not sure at this point if I will be on the up escalator, or the rocket sled to hell. But either way it will piss me off if my sorta cool stuff gets treated so poorly.
On the other hand, the dorky polyester velvet-like shirts my Mother-in-Law has bought me for Christmas over the years (WHY? has she ever seen me wear a shirt like that?) will live on forever and be displayed to future generations just to make fun of me.Norh ACA-2B tube pre, Sumo Andromeda SS amp. I'd love to see that CL listing:
'...have some random guns n ammo for sale....':rolleyes:
Hopefully my wife will have the decency to honor my wishes of having my stuff given to my kids to do what they will (or have when they get older). After that, or if they will be sold, post them on the Polk Flea Market before anything else. Maybe I should set up a fund to handle a storage facility and specific instructions in my will. Perhaps I'll appoint a CP member as executor of that portion of my will. :cool:____________________
